we would like to mention an outstanding performance.
The person in question is the conductor Ivan Anguélov,
who achieves the impossible. With his support,
the voices become more gentle. He succeeds in
presenting the audience the wonderful music of
Donizetti, without covering the voices, since
this is a kind of music in which the singers have
always been playing the leading role. Let’s
not forget: The singers are and will always be
the protagonists of a lyrical work. The conductor
Ivan Anguélov has fully comprehended the
spirit of Donizetti. At the same time, he knows
how to show the orchestra his confidence. He conducts
with sensitivity and finesse (you only have to
observe his left hand , the way it appeases the
instruments continually) without taking the music
too seriously. The success of this evening belongs
to Ivan Anguélov!...’ |
