FALSTAFF
Opera Zuid
' The Bulgarian conductor Ivan Anguélov rreally made the Brabant Orchestra shine. What a pity, that other cities in Brabant aren't able to present a similar performance.'
De Telegraaf
' The Brabant Orchestra with the conductor Ivan Anguélov prove they have entirely understood Verdi's music. The Orchestra plays very precisely with well-timed accents.'
Place de l'Opéra - May 2009
'...and the lively playing Brabant Orchestra under the direction of Ivan Anguélov.'
Operagazet - May 2009
' Jubilation not only for the vocalists on stage, but also for the excellent musicians of the Brabant Orchestra under the direction of Ivan Angußelov, who sets precise standards and gives the note.'
Mens en Melodie - May 2009
' The other winner is the Brabant Orchestra. With the conductor Ivan Anguélov the musicians grant the piece a pretty exact, felicitous basis. Anguélov, who was born in Greece and raised in Bulgaria, has already gained experience with Falstaff with the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig. So swell the Brabant Orcherstra managed to engage such a strong conductor for this production.'
De Volkskrant - May 2009
' The musical leader Ivan Anguélov just knows how to hit the right, light notes with the alertly playing Brabant Orchesta, without touching the melacholic undertone of the comedy.'
De Telegraaf - May 2009
'..and the excellently playing Brabant Orchestra under the musical direction of Ivan Anguélov.'

Opera Leipzig
‚Okay, let´s go on with it. After the previous Rigoletto, I was curious whether the next performance in the Oper Leipzig would be of a similar quality. The average level of the singing was very good. The orchestra played beautifully and the conducting was excellent too (same conductor as the Rigoletto).’...‚Regarding the conductor Ivan Anguelov and the orchestra I can say the same things as I did last time. The Gewandhausorchester turns out to be a nicest orchestra after all and I´m glad to have the luxury of them being the house orchestra of the Oper. The tone is refined, the ensemble playing sophisticated and phrasing and articulation well taken care of (also thanks to the conductor). ’
