'High quality music was brought by the very well prepared musicians of the state orchestra. Altough conductor Ivan Anguélov's tempi were rather rapid, he insists on conciseness even in the rapid values and the short accompanying accents. The strings wonderfully partner up with eachother. Under the musical direction of I´van Anguélov, Bellini`s melancholy-tinged cantilenas always have breathing power, lightness, beautiful colors and plenty of drama. In this 'Norma' exiting, intense theatre is also coming from the orchestra pit. A great evening. '

'The revival of Jossi Wieler's and Sergio Morabito's production ended with standing ovations. For the first time the state orchestra is being directed by conductor Ivan Anguélov. With his expert sense for nuances he knows how to balance Bellini's score between the orchestra and the singers. The orchestra provides an ideal soundbed for the singers , in which they can express their belcanto arts. Especially Catherine Naglestad enjoys the conductor leaving her enough freedom.'
